Yuen Siu-fai is a renowned Cantonese opera performer, artistic director and playwright. He is a recipient of the Annual Hong Kong Artist Award, the BH Honorary Medal and the Bronze Bauhinia Star, among other awards.

Over the past three decades, Yuen Siu-fai has produced and performed in multiple Cantonese operas for the HKAF, including “Lü Meng-zheng—A Poor Scholar” (1998) and “Three Generals Trapped at Mount Xiao” (2000). He shares one of his most special memories—working with the Hong Kong Cantonese opera actress Ms Chan Ho-kau in “The Virtuosity of Chan Ho-kau” at the 2002 Festival—in his #MyHKAFStory.
